In the 12 Golden Principles of Animation, “Follow-through and Overlapping Action” is always considered key to distinguishing between stiff, robotic motion and smooth, lifelike motion.
However, in Adobe After Effects, creating this overlap often means a nightmare: manually offsetting keyframes. Imagine you have 50 layers that need to appear sequentially. Dragging each timeline bar is not only time-consuming but also extremely difficult to re-time if the client changes their mind.
That’s why Aescripts Delay Motion Pro was created. More than just a time-saving tool, it’s a sophisticated rhythm control system that breathes life into lifeless layers with just a few clicks.

Aescripts Delay Motion Pro
Aescripts Delay Motion Pro is a powerful tool, but it’s not a magic bullet that replaces a designer’s creative thinking. A beautiful delay motion must stem from a deep understanding of the physics and emotion of the scene.
Don’t overuse it on every layer. Know when to stop. The subtlety lies in knowing when to sync and when to delay. Use this tool to free your hands from unnecessary actions, dedicating your mind entirely to creating emotionally resonant motion curves. See more Aescripts SolariText
Features Aescripts Delay Motion Pro
- Parent Delay Mode (Chain Effect)
- This is the most appealing feature. It works based on a hierarchical system.
- How it works: You connect (pick whip) layers in a sequence: Layer A connects to B, B connects to C⦠When Layer C moves, B will follow slightly behind, and A will follow B.
- Applications: Excellent for animating organic movements such as: animal tails wagging, hair blowing in the wind, robot arms extending, or rope effects.
- Feeling: Smooth, connected, and highly realistic.
- Index/Layer Order Delay Mode (Military Effect)
- This mode is based on the order of layers in the Timeline.
- How it works: You select a series of layers, and the script will automatically calculate so that layer 1 runs first, layer 2 runs after, and so on.
- Applications: Perfect for grid-based motion graphics, kinetic typography (characters appearing one by one), or UI elements (drop-down menus).
- Feeling: Orderly, consistent, and techy.
- Property Control
- You don’t have to delay everything. Delay Motion Pro allows you to be selective: delay only the X-axis, keeping the Y-axis unchanged; or delay only Rotation without delaying Scale. This creates extremely complex and interesting movements (for example, an object moving to a location before starting to rotate).
- Spring & Bounce
- In addition to delaying, the script also integrates the ability to add a spring effect. When a child layer follows a parent layer and stops, it won’t stop abruptly but will vibrate slightly (overshoot) before stabilizing. This is what creates the “juicy” look in modern motion design.
- Performance Baking
- Using too many expressions can make the file heavy and render slowly. Delay Motion Pro often provides a “Bake to Keyframes” option. This feature transforms complex algorithms into hardcoded keyframes, easing the workload on the computer during final rendering and making it easier to send files to others without installing scripts.
System requirements
- Supported Operating Systems: Windows 7/8/10/11
- Processor: Pentium IV and above
- Free hard disk space: 200 MB or more
- After Effects 2020 or higher
