Aescripts Blace – AI Face Detection & Blurring : Plugin based on Artificial Intelligence to recognize and blur faces.

Aescripts Blace is an advanced face detection and blurring plugin that uses machine learning algorithms to automatically identify faces in video. Instead of manually drawing masks and setting keyframes for each second of movement, Blace allows you to perform this process with just a few clicks.

Unlike traditional tracking tools, Blace doesn’t just follow a fixed point. It truly “understands” the structure of a person’s face from multiple angles, thus maintaining consistent blurring even when the subject turns, bows their head, or is partially obscured by other objects.

The higher the Buffer Size value, the smaller faces can be detected in the current frame. Higher buffer sizes also lead to longer computation times. Depending on the resolution of the footage, GPU mode may not work due to lack of GPU memory

AI-based solutions can outperform manual methods, but can also produce unpredictable results. The detection framework has been tested extensively but can fail in some cases, such as missing faces in footage or falsely detecting similar-looking subjects.   • Excluding the biggest faces
  • The faces are sorted by size and even the largest faces will not be blurred. This is sometimes useful if for example
  • You want to blur faces only in the context of a subject.
  • Include mask // Exclude mask / Added support (AE only, see PP workaround below)
  • It’s a method that gives you granular control over the areas to blur. Click one of them
  • The “Insert” buttons will include a corresponding mask.
  • The faces in the feature mask will be hidden from the plugin.
  • The faces in the exclusion mask will not be blurred. This is evaluated after including the mask.
  • Additional masks can be used to specify faces that the plugin does not understand.
  • Tip: Control the effect of these masks with the built-in “mask opacity”. If the value is higher than 0 percent, the mask will be used.

  • Blur: Creates a smooth, natural blur.
  • Pixelate: A classic style often seen in crime news reports.
  • Solid Color: Completely obscures the face with a solid block of color (e.g., black).
  • Custom Image: You can even replace the face with an emoji or any other image.
  • Masking Control
  • You have complete control over the size, shape, and softness of the censored area. Blace allows you to expand the coverage area from the face to the entire head or narrow it down to cover only the eyes, providing flexibility in creating effects.
  • Timeline Integration
  • Despite being an AI plugin, Blace still allows users to manually intervene. You can easily add or remove areas of recognition, and adjust the intensity of the blur at different points on the After Effects timeline.
