Fluid Painter
Fluid Painter for Blender is an add-on powered by Geometry Nodes, allowing users to create fluid effects using brush and curve tools.
Unlike traditional simulation systems such as Mantaflow or Flip Fluids – where you create domains, flows, effectsors, and wait for the results – Fluid Painter operates procedurally. The fluid appears as you draw. It doesn’t simulate the physics of individual water droplets; instead, it creates geometry that resembles fluid clinging to a surface.
This is the perfect solution for still renders, motion graphics, product photography (Product Viz), or scenes that don’t require overly complex physical interaction. See more MESHmachine for Blender
Features of Fluid Painter
- Real-Time Feedback
- The biggest weakness of physics simulation is that you don’t know what the result will look like until the baking process is complete. With Fluid Painter for Blender, everything happens in real time. You drag the mouse, the water flows. You bend the curve, the flow changes direction. This gives artists absolute control over the art direction.
- Lightweight and Resource-Saving
- Because it doesn’t have to calculate the collisions of millions of particles, Fluid Painter is extremely lightweight. You can add details like flowing water on a soda can or blood streaks on a game character’s weapon without slowing down the viewport. It’s compatible even with mid-range computers.
- Easy to use!
Simply add and draw one of the included presets to quickly create stunning fluid effects. - 30+ Presets
Using the included presets library compatible with both Eevee and Cycles, you can add fluids to your scene in seconds. - Drop System
Fluid Painter features an intuitive drop system that creates a drop at the end of each shape of the fluid curve. You can adjust the size, length, and curvature of the drops and move them along the splines to create a flow effect. - Drop System new features!
Create non-repetitive patterns using new randomization settings for movement and speed! - Drops Timeline Loop
Create seamless drop animations with the Drop Loop option! - Drops Streaming Start/Stop
Control the start and stop of the fluid drops steaming! - Scattering Objects
The tool also includes two layers of spheres or cylinders that can be added inside or over the surface of the fluid, to simulate for example air bubbles or sugary, adding even more realism to your scene. - Advanced Parameters
Fluid+ presets offer a set of special settings that allow for the creation of flat fluids that better adapt to the drawing surface! - Stick Fluids over Animated Objects
Tool to stick fluids over animated objects like rigged and simulated objects! - Export to any 3d software
Want to use the fluid you created outside Blender? It’s easy! Convert to mesh and export! - Make your own fluid
Build your fluid from scratch using the included default presets, the limit is just your fantasy! - You can adjust brush size, strength, and other parameters to create intricate fluid details and shape the flow of the simulation.
- Fluid Painter also allows for material and texture painting on the fluid surface. This means you can add color gradients, textures, and even emit additional particles from specific areas of the fluid.
